There is a wide range of guidelines for activity, making it even more individualized than portion control because it is based on a person’s ability to do different activities. To meet the goal of activity, we could do all different types of activities and exercises, ranging from weight lifting to running to yoga, but we must all stay active. Exercise and activity creates stress and repair, which is not only good for our bodies, but is also good for our minds. The biomarkers of people who are inactive are unbalanced, causing more inflammation and increasing disease states. However, studies have shown that activity has an opposite effect. It decreases stress markers, which decreases inflammation and has positive effects on a person’s health.
